Running for Cover

Do you have a need today? I've got a safe place we can go; it's a fortress actually! Proverbs 18:10 says, "The name of the Lord is a strong fortress; the godly run to him and are safe."
I'll run with you there.
It's kind of like getting caught outside in a downpour. You look around for the closest cover to get you out of the rain.
What's "raining" down on you today?
There's a place we can go; it's a fortress!
As we run, I think we should start praising God! You see, Psalm 149:6 says, "Let the praises of God be in their mouths, and a sharp sword in their hands." So as we run, we should praise because that creates a sharp sword in our hands. We may need that sword to defeat our enemy! Despair is a great enemy...but praise defeats him. I've fought him before! I would be so happy to cover your back and help you fight him today!
"Praise the Lord!
Sing to the Lord a new song.
Sing his praises in the assembly of the faithful.
O Israel, rejoice in your Maker.
O people of Jerusalem, exult in your King.
Praise his name with dancing,
accompanied by tamborine and harp.
For the Lord delights in his people;
he crowns the humble with salvation.
Let the faithful rejoice in his honor.
Let them sing for joy as they lie on their beds."
Psalm 149:1-5
